In 1789, the king Louis XVI called a meeting of the estate general. It was the first meeting of the estate general called since 1614. He called the meeting because the French government was having financial problems.

The Reign of Terror
The Storming of Bastille occurred in Paris, France, on July 14th, 1789. The prison in Paris is known as Bastille it represented the royal authority. The prison had a few inmates in the prison but this was seen as an abuse of power by the monarchy.
The Rise and Fall of Napoleon
On October 5th, 1789, women walked with pitchforks and pikes from their town to Paris. They were angry because the to risen prices of bread.
In September of 1793 the reign of terror begun, in this time 16,000death sentences were handed out. There were 2,600 was of the execution taking place in Paris.
In 1778 Napoleon was sent to France for military school. In 1785 he became an officer in the French army. He wanted a constitutional monarchy. Once he was king he created a Napoleonic Code that was based on two ideas all men are equal people have rights to a property. His fall came after continuous war defeats.
