Storyboard Text

  • Life of Buddha and his birth
  • He will be a king!
  • He will either be a king or a spiritual leader.
  • Protected Prince
  • Ahhh. I love my life.
  • Four Passing Sights
  • Oh wow, I have never seen that before
  • Siddhartha Gautama was born in circa 563 B.C., and was born in a palace as his dad was the king. Once a fortune teller came to the palace and was told that he would either be a spiritual leader or a king which would reunite all of India.
  • Search For Truth Path to Self Denial
  • Siddhartha was raised in a very wealthy family. Although, as he grew up he never saw the bad things in the world. Then he would become married at a very young age.
  • Great Enlightenment
  • Ugh! Why won't he wake up!
  • One day Siddhartha left the castle alone at around the age of 29 . This is when he finally saw the bad or cruel things in the whole entire world. He saw an old man leaning on a stick, a shrunken man taken by disease, a dead man with his family surrounding him crying, and most importantly a holy man.  This is when he left his home and went to find the truth.
  • Awakening the World
  • Follow me, and my way of life.
  • Sid's next part of becoming getting enlightenment was becoming an Ascetic. This meant that he ate very little food, almost never bathed. and would sit in place and meditate for days at a time. Although, after much time of denying so many things, he finally realized that this was not the right way to enlightenment.
  • Aumm
  • As Siddhartha's strength returned he began his search again. One day, Sid came across a Bodhi Tree, which was where he decided he would sit for as long as he needed to find the truth. He sat for 49 days, and was given a visit by Mara the god of death. He resisted the pain and found the truth.
  • After the Buddha had freed himself from the cycle of rebirth and suffering, he decided to not enjoy his freedom, but teach it to others. So for the next 45 years Siddhartha would teach people the way to be a Buddha. Although, at the age of 80, he would die and would have spread Buddhism all the way around the world.
