  • I know, anak. We are facing a global health crisis unlike any other crisis in our history — one that is killing people, spreading human suffering, and upending people’s lives!
  • Look, mom! Have you heard of the news about COVID-19?! It seems like we are in grave danger. This is freaking me out!
  • I think God wants to test our faith in Him by letting us go through trials. This pandemic might be one of those times, you know? Maybe we should repent for our sins before things get any worse!
  • I'm scared, mom! Thousands of people might die! Including us! We aren't safe at all!
  • One evening, while Alynah was randomly scrolling on her feed, she stumbled upon a piece of horrifying news from the World Health Organization about the global health crisis caused by COVID-19.
  • God, are you really testing our faith again? Why are you letting this happen to us? Do you want us to suffer?
  • Upon seeing the news, she hurriedly went to her mom and informed her about it. Her mother was also worried about the current situation as much as she was.
  • What should we do?! Should we go to the hospital and have ourselves checked?
  • Alynah became paranoid. Her mother figured that the pandemic might be God's way of testing their faith in Him. She immediately thought of repenting for their sins for fear of God's "punishment".
  • Frustrated, her mother doubted God and questioned Him about His intentions in her mind.
  • Alynah thought of ways to deal with the pandemic, but her mother instructed her to pray first before anything else to "guarantee" their safety and protection from the deadly virus.
  • We will, but praying is easier right now. If you don't, He might forget about us because of our sins and we may not be able to survive this pandemic. Might as well go to your room and pray, OK?
  • Yes, mom. I will do as you say...
  • On her way to her room, the thought of the current outbreak possibly affecting her family bothered her a lot. She was worried that their lives might suddenly get taken away because of the virus. Her family meant the whole world to her, and she couldn't afford to lose them at all.
