- Hi! Today we talk about photosynthesis! It uses water, sunlight, and Carbon dioxide to create sugar!
- That's awesome! I've heard a lot about photosynthesis. You also help produce oxygen.
- And that is through a process called cellular respiration...
- Yes, us plants and animals use the sugar called glucose to make ATP energy, which is just adenosine triphosphate.
- Haha, I see you know a lot about photosynthesis and how it works. Do you know the formula?
- On the left side you'll see the reactions, and on the right side you'll see the products. isn't that the whole thing?
- Well, kind of..the formula really is 6C02+6H20>602+C6H1206!
- Awesome! So where does it all start?
- During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide and water from the air and soil. This transforms the water into oxygen and the carbon dioxide into glucose. the plant then releases the oxygen back into the air , and stores energy within the glucose molecules.
