- In this scene, Romeo has a dream that tells him bad fortune is coming. Mercutio shakes it off and convinces Romeo to go to the Capulet ball with him.
- Romeo goes to the ball to forget about Rosaline. He falls in love with Juliet at first sight and forgets all about the girl he claimed to love, Rosaline.
- Too caught up in Juliet's beauty, Romeo forgets that he is partying at his enemy's house. Tybalt has spotted Romeo and is furious.
- Juliet reciprocates. They share a beautiful sonnet and a passionate kiss. The beginning of a most heartfelt and tragic love.
- Meanwhile, Tybalt goes off, full of pride to find Lord Capulet to inform him of the enemies that he has found. Lord Capulet shut off his treacherous plan and tells him to let everyone just enjoy the party.
- The nurse hurries Juliet to her parents, leaving no time for a goodbye with the man she just met. The nurse tells Juliet who Romeo really is. At this moment, both of them discover their true identities and revel at their horrid fates.
