  • During the beginning of the Neolithic Age it was also the birth of trading. Trading was important because if a village was low on resources they could trade to get morw of what they need.

  • Traders often traveled great distances to trade. They crossed great mountains on foot, donkeys in deserts and the Mediterranean Ocean in boats.

  •  Having a stable food supply people could focus on their main interests. A good example of this evolution is the town of Çatalhöyük. The people had other types of jobs or job specialization. Rather than everyone being farmers, people became weavers, basket makers, toolmakers, and traders.
  • The people of the Neolithic Age didn't just want to survive, they wanted to make things decorative or beautiful. For example they wove their baskets with interesting geometric shapes and patterns. Another example is that stoneworkers had learned to polish their tools and make them into jewelry and even mirrors.
  • Without the need to hunt and gather wild plants people could focus on their main interests. In Çatalhöyük people developed 14 different types of food plants. Also, colthemakers to spin and weave. The people spun natural fibers like linen and wool into comfortable clothing.
