Storyboard Text

  • I'm Edwardo the extrusive igneous rock.
  • Oh no! Its gonna rain!
  • I'm still here!
  • Lava that erupts from volcanoes pile up and cool to form extrusive igneous rock
  • Stop your squishing me!
  • After about a year of physical weathering from rain and wind, the igneous rock will turn to sediments
  • What's that shaking?!
  • Sediments that have been weathered will be carried by wind and water and then deposited in other places
  • It's getting a little hot in here
  • Sediments pile up and compact together. Gravity pushes them together and they form sedimentary rock.
  • Rocks above lava go through extreme heat and pressure causing them to change.
  • Metamorphic rocks may have ribbon like layers due to the heat and pressure bending the layers.
