  • Balanced Force
  • MATH test today
  • this it Thomas, Thomas is in 4th at his local elementary school. he does his usual routine every day first he starts with his parents driving him. this is an example of motion because his car is moving. he drives the 12 miles every day to school and back. today it no different then any other day he drives to the school, sitting in the back impatiently expecting a math test later.
  • Unbalanced Force
  • MATH test today
  • Thomas starts with his first class, PE. they are currently doing a unit on basketball so he picks up where he left the last day. he begins to play a game with his team. this is an example of gravity because the ball is being moved around and bounced as a result of gravity pulling the ball downward toward the ground. Thomas continues on with his game passing with all of the other players on his team.
  • Air Resistance
  • Today we will be making model planes and testing them
  • Thomas then moves on to the dreaded class of the day, Math. after he sits down he begins to fiddle around with his crayon. with one finger he balances the crayon. this is an example of balanced force and gravity because of how the balanced crayon stays in place. still nervous he continues to fiddle with his crayon.
  • friction
  • after finally getting the test Thomas sits in his chair trying to complete it. he leans back in his char, it helps him think but all of a sudden the balance is broken and he falls backward out of his chair onto the ground. this is an example of an unbalanced force because he is not balanced resulting in a fall or pull backward. after falling out he pulls himself back up, and keeps going on with his test.
  • Thomas then movies on to his next class science. today they will be doing a contest on who can make a modal air plan fly the farthest. after making his plane he throws it and is disappointed it has too much drag and does not go vary far. this is an example of air friction because the plane was held back and did not go far because of the resulting air friction, that he did not account for.
  • after completing school Thomas drives home with his mom, it had snowed while he was in school so the drive back was sower and bumpy. this is an example of friction because the car moved slower as a result of fiction from the snowy ground.
