  • Smokers are also 3-4 times more likely to get AMD then nonsmokers. AMD is a disease that causes vision loss. Tobacco chemicals damage blood vessels in your eyes.

  • About 20% of deaths from heart disease are directing related to smoking. Some effects of smoking are: stroke, heart failure, or heart attack.

  • Lung cancer is developed when an abnormal cell grows uncontrollably in one or both lungs.
  • Smoking is linked to about 80% to 90% of lung cancers. 
  •  The abnormal cell develops into a tumor and disturbs the normal functioning of the lungs.
  • When smoking, the minerals in your bones get broken done and weaker. Then it also causes the bones to take longer to heal.

  • Also smoking causes stained teeth, bad breath, cavities, also, it lessons sense of taste. Plus, it can cause gum disease. It is an inflammation around the tooth.

  • Some chemicals in tobacco trigger the destruction of collagen and elastin, which are the fibers that gives skin its strength. 
  • Smokers are 30-40% times more likely to get diabetes than nonsmokers. Diabetes is a group of diseases where blood sugar levels are higher than normal.
