Oh No! Now my father will not be able to be a Voyageur this year! I will have to sign up for him.
AWAWAWAWA!!! My Thumb!!!
Aww, my arms and shoulders ache soo much!
Lets go boys!!!
Here we are boys, the rapids!
Oh no, here we go.
Pierre's dad cut off his thumb chopping the kindling so Pierre decides to become a voyageur for him.
Pierre set off in his canoe, his arms and shoulders ache a lot and he wishes that he was home. Pierre is getting along ok with his canoe men partners, exept for Beliot of course, his old friend from school is on his canoe too, so that is a releaf for him but everyone is calling Pierre a Grandpa and he is getting a little mad about that.
Finally! Where here! Grand Portage!
Finally the group reached the rapids, for the first rapids, they tricked Pierre into carrying an extra heavy sack, it ended up being filled up with super heavy musket balls! On the second rapids, Pierre checked his sack before heading up the steep hill, this time Pierre carried 2 sacks and it felt as light as can be!
Pierre! My son! Your home!
They got to lake Huron and at first it was a great morning of paddling and then the water started getting all crazy! They where all getting soaked and the boat started flooding! If they tried to finish there daily miles they where sure that none of them would survive in that crazy whether so they had to stop just a little early.
They where finally pulling op to the Grand Portage! When he saw it, Pierre couldn't believe that he had traveled all this way to find this, he thought that it would be much more grand but when he actually got there, he realized that it is actually much more exciting that he thought! He even met some new Indian friends: Kennewah and Mukwa!
Pierre is going to be a pork-eater this year. Pierre also decided that he is going to be a voyageur again next year and maybe become a hivernant!
