  • There is a bear in Lyddie's home and she must signal for her family to hide this leads to a man vs. nature conflict . (Page 1-2)`    
  • Amanda claims books are for the devil while Betsy and Lyddie think otherwise. The argument intensifies and soon becomes a man vs. man conflict. (Page 90)
  • Lyddie was injured by the shuttle of her loom and she is contemplating about whether she should keep working or get help. It shows Lyddie debating herself to keep working, which is a man vs. self conflict. (Page 102)
