  • THE LAYERS OF THE EARTH.
  • Mr. Grey
  • Hello class, today we are going to learn about the layers of the earth that consist of the crust, the mantle, the inner, and the outer core.
  • Mr. Grey
  • WHAT IS THE CRUST?
  • The  crust is the outer layer of the earth that we live on. It is the thinnest layer of the earth. Its made of plates that cover the entire planet.
  • Can anyone tell  me some facts about the earth's mantle?
  • GEOLOGY LAYERS OF THE EARTH
  • The mantle makes up 84% of  the Earth's total mass.
  • The mantle is about 2,900 kilometers (1,802 miles) thick.
  • WHAT IS THE MANTLE?
  • Mr. Grey
  •  The mantle is a layer between the crust and the outer core, It s 2900 km thick. It contains convection currents.
  • Mr. Grey
  • WHAT IS THE INNER & OUTER CORE?
  • The inner core is the  deepest layer that's a solid iron ball. Its about 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) in diameter
  • The outer core of the Earth is a fluid layer about 2,400 km (1,500 mi) thick. Its made out of mostly iron and nickel that lies above Earth's solid inner core , and below the mantle.
  • I learned that The center of the Earth is made up of two layers, the outer core and the inner core.
  • I learned that The crust is the  outermost layer of the earth. Its thick and representing less than 1% of the earth's total volume.
  • I learned that The mantle is the mostly-solid bulk of Earth's interior.
