  • The main characters are Mr,White, Mrs,White,& Sargent Majors Morris. The story takes place in the home of the whites in England during the late 1800's. The overall tone is suspenseful and evil. the whites learn about a magical monkey's paw. 
  • Climax
  • let in Herbert i cant reach the lock!!!

  • The first conflict is Man vs. Fate. The white's receive a magical monkey's paw that that can grant wishes and are tempted to use it. The second conflict is Man vs. Self. Mr. White is torn between his devotion to his wife and family by making a second wish and not interfering with fate a second time.
  • Falling action
  • I wish fore the knocking to go away!
  • 1) the whites receive a magical monkey's paw that has the power to grant wishes. 2) Mr. White wishes for 200 pounds, but he receives it as compensation for Herbert's death. 3) Mrs. White insists Mr. White uses the second wish to bring back Herbert, so Mr. White wishes his son back to life.
  • Resolution
  • something, believed to be a resurrected Herbert, comes knocking at the door. Mrs. White hears the knocking and runs to open the door despite Mr. White trying to stop her. Mr. White frantically begins searching for the monkey's paw while his wife tries to open the door
  • 1. Mr. White finds the monkey’s paw, and he makes his third and final wish.2. The knocking stops as Mrs. White is about to open the door.3. Mrs. White opens the door, but nothing is there.
  • Upon hearing Mrs. White’s wail of disappointment, Mr. White has the courage to join her downstairs. Mrs. White is left in misery as she and her husband walk to their gate outside their home with Mrs. White still hoping to see Herbert somehow. Mr. White is relieved that the knocker is gone.
