  • The 1960's were an eventful decade in America. The counter culture of the war included: hippies, drug use,  sexual revolutions, and new music and films.
  • Containment was a US policy using numerous strategies to prevent the spread of communism abroad during the cold war
  • Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk, burned himself to death on a Saigon street June 11, 1963 to protest alleged persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government.
  • Operation Rolling Thunder was the codename for an American bombing campaign during the Vietnam War. U.S. military aircraft attacked targets throughout North Vietnam from March 1965 to October 1968. 
  • Nixon ended American involvement in the war in Vietnam in 1973 and brought the American POWs home, and ended the military draft. ... By late 1973, the Watergate scandal escalated causing him to resign.
  • Vietnamese political leader who served as president, with dictatorial powers, of what was then South Vietnam, from 1955 until his assassination.
