  • Hello dear old citizens, today with my State of the Union Address, I will also be talking about my "Monroe Doctrine."
  • Oooh, what is that?
  • ‘The American continents … are henceforth not to be considered as subjects for future colonization by any European powers.’ 
  • Wow, that is great. We will have freedom forever. I love the Era of Good Feelings.
  • We will keep each other safe and face every threat together!
  • Always, President!!!!!
  • James Monroe, the President of the United States will be talking about his new "Monroe Doctrine" in his State of the Union Address today, December 6, 1823.
  • The Monroe Doctrine will keep everyone safe in the Western Hemisphere! We will have peace and freedom.
  • Yayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!
  • Basically, the Monroe Doctrine is a foreign policy that seperates spheres between the Eastern and Western Hemisphere. James Monroe is technically saying if Europe does not interfere with us, then we would not interfere with them.
  • vs.
  • Keep yourself out of the Western Hemisphere's business, French!
  • If a European nation would try to interfere with a nation in the Western Hemisphere, the United States would view that as a hostile act and respond accordingly. James Monroe will act against Europe if they touch a Western Hemisphere's country.
  • vs.
  • Keep yourself out of  our business. Two is stronger than one!!!
  • The Monroe Doctrine was a great policy that helped keep America safe and the whole Western Hemisphere from the mighty, old, strong Europe countries.
  • President John F. Kennedy invoked the Monroe Doctrine during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The U.S. placed a naval quarantine around Cuba to prevent the Soviet Union, mostly Russia from installing devastating missiles in Cuba.(1962)
