  • Please tell the citizens of Nineveh to stop their unforgivable behaviour.
  • The only problem was, Jonah didn't want to help the citizens. He wanted the citizens to be punished for their mistakes.
  • Thank you.
  • I-
  • So, instead, he fled the city by boat and didn't listen to what God asked him to do.
  • Soon after the boat left, a terrible storm suddenly aroused and tossed the boat around viciously. All the men threw their baggage overboard hoping they wouldn't drown, except Jonah who was peacefully napping below deck.
  • There's a missing passenger below deck! Let me fetch him!
  • Aye, Captain!
  • Jonah told them, "I am running away from something God asked me to do. It is my fault this is happening. If you throw me into the sea the storm will stop.".The men were reluctant to throw Jonah overboard, but as the storm grew worse they did so. The storm stopped almost immediately.
  • YARRRRRGHHH!!!!!!
  • God was not done with Jonah yet. He sent a whale to eat Jonah up in one huge gulp to prevent him from drowning, and kept Jonah in the whale for 3 days.
  • In those 3 days of utter darkness and discomfort, Jonah had time to reflect. He prayed and prayed to God, begged God to forgive him and thanking God for not letting him drown.
  • H-help m-me Momma!
  • By the time God ordered the whale to spit Jonah out, it was clear that Jonah had changed his ways.
  • When the king of Nineveh heard about this, he made sure that everyone listened to God.
  • Damn I stink!!
  • When he asked Jonah to go to Nineveh the 2nd time, he agreed to go.
  • Thank you for telling us. We will listen as He says.
  • God forgave all the citizens.
  • He told the people what had happened to him, and that if continued behaving badly, God would destroy the city.
  • Jonah left the city furious with God's decision not to punish the people and asked God to kill him.
  • He'll destroy everything in this city in 40 days time if you don't listen!
  • DAMN stupid life and its injustices!
  • (Jonah didn't die).
  • I don't like to destroy people who are making bad deeds, I'd rather see us turn from our bad ways and do good again.
  • THE END
