  • Andrew Jackson also known as "Old Hickory" was the 7th President of the United States. He was in office for 8 years and is in the democratic party with 99 electoral votes and 179 his second term.

  • One of the domestic issues was when Jackson created the Indian Removal Act which allowed him to forcefully remove Natives west of the Mississippi River 5 nations were affected, of the five the Cherokee went to court instead of going to war which lead to the Trail of Tears and changed native History
  • Another domestic issue was the South Carolina Nullification Crisis. Jackson was angry about the high federal tariff on imported goods which helped New England at the extent of the southern planters. The state declared to nullify the federal tax so Jackson threatened to go to war with South Carolina and hang John Calvin.
  • Jackson's portrait is on the twenty-dollar bill. He was the founder of the Democratic Party and he was the first U.S. Representative from the state of Tennessee.
