Ronald Wilson Reagan was the 40th President of the United States, and his nickname was "The Great Communicator". He was a republican and was in office from 1981-1989. He won a whooping 489 electoral votes in 1980.
Reagan graduated from Dixon High school and then later on graduated from Eureka College in 1932. Before Reagan entered the White house, he was a Radio sports announcer, a Hollywood movie actor, and television host.

In 1981, President Reagan is shot by John W. Hinkley Jr. while leaving the Washington Hilton Hotel after giving a speech. The bullet was mere inches from his heart but luckily, he was rushed to the hospital.
The Cold War continued the struggle between Communism and Democracy. Reagan was ultimately the President who ended the war with the Intermediate-Range Nucleur Forces treaty.
