  • Habit 2
  • Personal Mission Statement
  • Habit 7
  • The point of habit 5 is to listen before trying to give advice and to see from the other's point of view before sharing your own. The only way to understand someone is to listen to them first. Furthermore, you must listen with your heart, eyes, and ears along with being able to stand in their shoes and mirror to genuinely listen to someone. But after you've understood them it's your turn to be understood (which can take a lot of courage) as well as giving feedback.
  • Habit 5 - In Action
  • Habit 2 is all about figuring out what you want to do with our future and learning to take the wheel in your life. We must realize that the path we choose today can shape us forever and our friends have a powerful influence on our lives. But creating a personal mission statement can help you plan for the future and discover your talents. Negative labels, "it's all over syndrome", and having no end in mind can become road blocks that keep us from becoming successful.
  • Habit 2 - In Action
  • Should I go to art school or college?
  • Habit 7 talks about regularly renewing and strengthening your body, brain, heart, and soul. (key dimensions) Making sure your focus to key dimensions is done is moderation is important, one dimension will affect the rest. The best way to sharpen the saw is to focus on building relationships which means making regular deposits into your RBA and PBA. Not only that but keeping a journal allows you to express yourself and strengthens your self-awareness.
  • Habit 7 - In Action
  • After reading 7 Habits I've become more conscious when listening to my friends. I'm always now thinking and making sure I'm not putting in unwanted input when they they just want to be listened to. It has also helped me realize my poor listening skills and how I can improve.
  • Even before we read 7 Habits I've been thinking about my future, I actually enjoy planning for my future, it's something I find exciting especially because I want to make my hobby into a career. I'm fortunate enough to have a grandpa who has helped me figure out how I'll achieve my dreams and has given me wonderful advice about life.
  • Sharpen the saw has helped me less stressed about school, algebra especially. It has also made me more motivated to start working out, something I might start this summer. I've definitely also become more self-aware that I do not do things in moderation and I need to find balance  within the key dimensions.
