This is James K. Pulk. He was the eleventh president of the United States who served for four years. He was a proud democrat nicknamed "Young Hickory'," who earned 40,000 electoral votes during his election for presidency.

Before presidency, Pulk attended a small school named the University of Carolina. Which only contained about 80 students. He graduated the year of 1818. Both of his grand fathers had been in the Revolutionary War. Which led polk into presidency. Pulk lived the first 10 years of his life in rural North Carolina. However, once his grandfathers went to war, the family moved with them to Tennessee and became farmers.

The first foreign affair during James K. Pulk's presidency was the Mexican war. During this war, the Mexicans went to war with Great Brittian which caused over 50,000 casualties to die. More people actually died from diseases than on the battlefield.
The treaty of New Guadalupe conveyed to the U.S the right way across the Isthmus of Pandama. In return, the U.S promised to guarantee the neutrality of the Isthmus and the sovereignty of New Guadalupe.
