  • Habit 5: "Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood"
  • I'll tell you in a minute, firstly, how was your day?
  • How was your day?
  • Gavin Cox/Period 4
  • Habit 6: "Synergize"
  • Mine!?
  • It's your fault!
  • How to not synergize.
  • Habit 7: "Sharpen The Saw"
  • It's so nice getting some time to myself.
  • Habit 5 says that the first thing to do in a conversation is to let the other person speak first. Although, it doesn't matter how long you're listening if you don't genuinely listen to them. Once you've actually listened to what they've said, you should try to mirror them to some extent, don't mimic them though. After you've listened to them, there's a good chance they'll listen to you.
  • Habit 5: "Seek First To Understand, Then to Be Understood"
  • What did you think of the movie?
  • Habit 6, Synergy, is about working together to do something neither of you could do alone. Part of creating synergy is celebrating differences and not just tolerating or shunning them, celebrating differences means more synergy. People block synergy everyday with cliques and  being prejudice, and we shouldn't let differences affect how we treat each other. To get synergy you gotta define the problem/opportunity, try their way, then try yours, then find the best way.
  • Habit 6: "Synergize"
  • Thanks for helping with the laundry!
  • Firstly, you gotta care for your body by eating healthy, working out, or other things, but don't get obsessed with being fit. Also, your brain needs care too, try to exercise it by reading, writing, doing something musical, there's so many options, Don't forget to care for your heart though, just be happy, have fun, and keep good relationships. Lastly, you gotta care for your soul, you can keep a diary, meditate, help others, write a poem, draw., or just read.
  • Habit 7: "Sharpen The Saw"
  • Habit 7 is the best cause it's all about me!
  • So, this is the only habit I have actually kinda implemented in my life, and I've done so by letting others talk about something before I start rambling on. An example of this is instead of coming homing home and immediately talking about my day I ask my parents how their day was. So, overall its genuinely affected most conversations in a positive way, since it makes the other person feel like the conversation isn't all about me.
  • Good, what did you think?
  • It was good, thanks for asking
  • So, I haven't actually used this habit in my life, but it seems like something that could help me in certain situations. I feel this would work best in situations where people have to work together in assigned groups or even something like cleaning around the house. So, this seems like a habit that could help me a lot, especially with my little sister.
  • So this habit is one that I don't do but I think I should, it talks about caring for yourself, which is something I'm not the best at. I think I would highly benefit from doing the types of things that are here, such as reading, writing, or just being happy. So, this is one that I think I don't want to do, but need to do, and I think everyone else should too!
