  • Habit 3- Put First Things First
  • Yeah, you should go study. I always finish all my school work before coming here
  • I have a test tomorrow that I need to study for, so I shouldn't be out here playing
  • Habit 4- Think Win-Win
  • May I please have a dollar? I need it for the bus ticket
  • Of course!
  • Habit 5- Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood
  • Humans aren't perfect, just make sure you try you best to get your grades up.
  • High school has been really hard mom.
  • Being a Prioritizer means to put first things first and last things last. Control of your life, balance, and high performance are all results of being  a prioritizer. Important means your most important things, activities that contribute to your mission and goals. Urgent means pressing things,,activities that demand immediate attention. To exit quadrant 1 and enter quadrant 2, you must procrastinate less. To exit quadrant 3 and enter quadrant two, you must say no to activities. To enter quadrant two from quadrant 4, cutting down on slacker activities is required. Fear and peer pressure keep kids from putting first things first.
  • Habit 3- In Action
  • I can't, I have to play the game for the school team
  • Win-Win is a mental frame that says I can win and so can you. Nobody is inferior or superior to others. If you cannot find a solution that will result in a win-win situation, decide not to play. The tumor twins are competing and comparing. Competition is healthy when you compete against yourself, or when it challenges you to become your best. Competition becomes dark when you tie your self-worth into winning or when you use it as a way to place yourself above another. Insecurity is what makes it difficult for a person to think win-win.
  • Habit 4- In Action
  • Thank you for letting me join in the first place
  • Seek first to understand then to be understood means listen before you start talking. To be understood is the deepest part of the human heart. The four primary forms of communication are reading, listening, writing, and speaking, The five poor listening styles are spacing out, pretend listening, selective listening, word listening, and self-centered listening. Mirroring means to repeat back in your own words what the other person is saying and feeling. Mirroring shows warmth and caring, while mimicking is cold and indifferent. To hear what other people are saying you need to listen to what they are not saying.
  • Habit 5- In Action
  • You need to cut in and cross it
  • I had a project to complete that was due the next day and I had to finish Algebra Nation. I worked on the project first because it was due earlier. Next year, I will be doing IB and prioritizing is a major skill required to perform well. If everything goes as planned, I will be playing soccer for Spruce Creek High school and for a club. I will prioritize the school team over the club team.
  • Are you coming to the game today?
  • I am a very competitive person and I sometimes have the mindset that there is only a winner and a loser. A win-win situation that I recently experienced is that my friend wanted to join my soccer team and we needed more players, so it was a win-win situation for both parties. Another win-win situation that I experienced is that I wanted Chipotle, but my brother wanted Chic-Fil-A, so we got both.
  • Welcome to the team
  • I pretend listen a lot of the time, so I always ask the person to repeat what they said. Then, I focus the second time. My brother and I were debating if we should go to Tampa or Orlando. He said what he wanted and his reasons, then I said what I wanted and my reasons. Once, my teammate and I were arguing during a game and I listened to what he had to say, then I said what I wanted to say.
  • I understand that I messed up, but I was wide open, so I took the shot
