  • Habit 5: "Seek First to Understand then be Understood"
  • And...
  • Proactive people let stuff go, laugh about it, move on, think before they act, are calm, cool and in control, and make choices based on their values. We can control ourselves, our attitudes, our choices, and our response to whatever happens to us.  Proactive people are not easily offended, take responsibility for their choices, think before they act, bounce back when something bad happens, always find a way to make it happen, and focus on things they can do something about and don't worry about things they cant.
  • Habit 1: "Be Proactive"
  • Yayyy!!
  • You made it on the team!
  • We are all equal; no one is inferior or superior to anyone else, and no one has to be. There's plenty of success to go around for everyone, not just you. You care about people and want them to succeed, but you also care about yourself and want to succeed as well. Its not a matter of who gets the biggest piece of the pie; there's more than enough food for everyone.
  • Habit 4: "Think Win-Win"
  • Congrats!
  • OMG I won!
  • Good job!
  • Listen first and talk second; see things from someone elses point of view. People will open up to you when they feel genuine love and understanding. Seeking to be understood requires courage and to understand someone you must listen to them. Listen with your eyes, heart and ears, stand in the other persons shoes, and practice mirroring.
  • Habit 5: "Seek First to Understand then be Understood"
  • Then that happened...
  • I have been more self-aware of my actions and the choices I make and how I get through my problems. Now I am more of a can-do person when I think about solutions and options for problems in life. I can now turn my setbacks into triumphs, like not making it on a team but trying out for another one that you also wanted to be on.
  • I now believe that you should not only cheer for yourself, you have to cheer for others too and make them happy. I've learned that competition is healthy when you compete against yourself, but becomes dark when you tie your self worth into winning and use it to place yourself above another. It has made me realize that I cant let people walk over me like I'm a doormat, i need to stand up for myself instead.
  • I have been more aware of my feelings. I'm able to stand in someone elses shoes and feel what they're feeling. It's made me be able to focus and listen to people and see how their feeling before I jump into the conversation.
