Storyboard Text

  • Once, there was a little girl named Francis. And she LOVED rainbows. But, she lived in Seattle, so most of the time, it was cloudy, but sometimes it was sunny.
  • Francis felt like someone had planted a "No Rainbows" sign on her house! So, she decided she would make a rainbow.
  • NO RAINBOWS
  • Make a RAINBOW!
  • This prism will reflect light to make a rainbow all around your daughters' room!
  • But, her mom had an idea.
  • Sweetie! I think I found the perfect thing. It is a rainbow maker! If you hang it in your window, you can have a rainbow anytime it's sunny.
  • But... how?
  • be a RAINBOW
  • Her mother explained that when light hits glass at an angle, since it is a wave and not a particle, it passes through the glass. The light bends and refraction occurs! the infrared ligh travels through fastest, and the ultraviolet light travels through slowly , separating the colors, creating a rainbow effect!
