  • "The Story of an Hour" By: Kate Chopin

  • Many events can happen during an hour.......
  • Climax: Dynamic time
  • In this short story the main protagonist was introduced and her name is Louise Mallard. Mrs. Mallard's sister is Josephine and a good friend of Mr. Mallard came, and they gave the news to Mrs. Mallard calmly. They both told that her Mr. Mallard was killed in a train accident. This is important to know that this short story takes place in the 1890's, and back then there were no women rights.
  • Falling Action
  • This news made her depressed, but also confused. Mrs. Mallard at first was depressed because this news made her upset on knowing that she will be alone. Also, Mrs. Mallard is sad because it her husband, but she is also confused. Although, she is depressed, Mrs. Mallard is also have fear. She is fearful and confused because she had never discovered freedom. As the story progressed, Mrs. Mallard was stood and faced the open window, and she looked on the window and the "spring life" is enetering.
  • Resolution
  • At the beginning she was a depressed and notice her husband is repression, and now she dynamically had changed her point of view of the death of her husband. Mrs. Mallard had noticed the blue patches from the sky that is peeking out. She realized that she feels amused about the feeling of her being free. For an example she had said,"free, free, free" this shows that she realizes that she is becoming free and that it's fine to have the feeling of the freedom.
  • As the story continues, Mrs. Mallard was locked in her bedroom, and Josephine had came believing that she was depressed. Instead, of Mrs. Mallard crying she is only thinking out loud that she is finally free. Later, Josephine begs For Louise to open the door, and Mrs. Mallard did open the door. They both went down stairs, and suddenly they both saw Mr. Mallard coming inside the house. It appears that Brently Mallard was never near the train accident.
  • At the end of the short story, Mrs. Mallard is in shocked she couldn't believe that Mr. Mallard was presented in here. As a sudden, Mrs. Mallard was plainly dead on the floor. It was a disaster her husband had came, and she had died from his return. Doctors believe that she died because of her enthusiastic feeling of seeing him come back, but in reality her death was to get joy and away from her husband being really strict.
