  • I know, my parents thought about picking me up early, however the roads are too slippery to drive on.
  • It has been raining hard for days, and there have been various warnings of flash floods.
  • We better get to class, the bell is ringing.
  • There has been a prominent flash flood warning for the area. It is too dangerous for any student to leave. Be prepared to stay in the building until the rain lets up. We will move to a higher floor for safety. Class, please stay calm.
  •  A flood is an overflowing of a large amount of water beyond its normal confines, especially over what is normally dry land. Floods vary in causes, storm surges, tropical storms, long periods of heavy rain. The effects of floods can be devastating, destroying buildings,  and drowning organisms. It is definitely something to be aware of, but we have to accept it comes with our world.
  • It has been raining for days nonstop, but the school has decided education should continue. Many parents and students are worried how this decision might turn out. Including these girls.
  • The bell starts to ring, signaling the start of a new day at school. The girls rush to class.
  • In Brazil, floods are not an uncommon occurrence, as many Brazilians live along the Atlantic coast on the East side of the country. The inhabitants usually choose to live here, for much of Brazil's interior is covered in rainforest, therefore most inhabit the coast is very densely populated. However, with the coast there are problems such as this one. Difficult to deal with they are, but the more we know the better.
  • Announcement: The rain has finally died down. Students may return to their normal classes, and continue with their usual schedule of dismissal. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
  • The pair make it to class, just in time for her teachers chilling announcement. The school had indeed made the wrong choice. The class is frightened as the teacher begins to lead them down the hall to a higher class room.
  • The class is still in a state of panic, but the teacher makes it a priority to remain calm. She begins a lecture about the flood itself.
  • The teacher continues the lecture, including details about the geography of Brazil. Eventually, the class is at ease.
  • After a few hours, the principal's voice is heard over the announcement.
