Dr. King used this quote to show that he knows The Constitution and his rights as an American citizen. The promissory note the architects signed was for all people to be treated equally. 196
He uses this quote because most of the crowd knows that these horrors are true, especially those affected by police brutality. And those horrors are still happening today. p.197
King uses this statement because he knows this is what many people in the crowd want for their children. King wanted his children to live in a world where they could live peacefully. p.199
