  • Whats a transverse wave?
  • A transverse wave is one type of a mechanical wave.
  • Whats a medium?
  • The medium is the material a mechanical wave travels through.
  • Transverse waves move the medium up and down
  • Transverse waves have resting positions halfway between crests and troughs
  • The crest is the highest point of the wave and the trough is the lowest
  • These waves also have amplitude and wavelength. Amplitude is the maximum distance the particles of a medium move
  • The wavelength is the distance between two corresponding points
  • Light waves, an audience wave, and radio waves are all examples of a transverse wave
  • Very interesting. Thank you
