  • Principle 1: Genetic Variation
  • Principle 2: Overproduction and the struggle to survive
  • Principle 3: Different survival and reproduction (survival of the fittest)
  • There are 2 different types of squid. There are red ones and brown ones. They both have different gene codes for different traits so that's why some are red and some are brown.
  • Principle 4: Change in the gene pool
  • There are to many red squid and not that much food. The brown squid are able to camouflage and stay safe.
  • Adaptation
  • Organism: Cuttlefish Environment: Ocean Trait selected for: Skin color Adaption Type: Camouflage/ Physical
  • Only the fittest squids live and those are the brown squids. Those are able to pass on the genes. The brown squid are indeed the fittest for their environment.
  • Biology
  • A mutation occured and made the squid brown. So that led the brown squid to survive.
