Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

The Green Knight arrives at King Arthur's castle, taunting the men to take his challenge. The challenge being that they each take a swing at each other with an axe.
Sir Gawain takes the challenge against the Green Knight and cuts off his head. However, the Green Knight picks up his head and leaves.
A year later, Gawain sets out to find the Green Knight but stops at a castle to rest. At the castle, he makes another deal with the Lord of the house.
The first and second day, Gawain keeps his half of the deal. Until the third day, he keeps the green girdle, in hopes that it saves his life.
Gawain finds the Green Knight. The Knight takes 3 attempts to hit Gawain as a symbol of his dishonesty with the Lord of the house.
The Green Knight reveals that he is the Lord of the Castle and sends Gawain away with the green girdle as a symbol of his adventure and lesson he learned.
