The Bicycle and the Sweet-shop
The Great Mouse Plot
Thwaites explains what the Liquorice Bootlaces and why they shouldn't eat it.´´Your teeth become very sharp and pointed,’ the father had answered. ‘And a short stumpy tail grows out of your back just above your bottom. There is no cure for ratitis. I ought to know. I’m a doctor.’´´ Mrs. Pratchett is mean to all the boys that comes in her sweet-shop because she says that boys cause all the trouble.
Mrs Pratchett’s Revenge
One Sherbet Sucker, please,’ Thwaites said to her, holding out his penny.Dahl and his friends find a dead mouse in a loose floorboard at school. Dahl puts the dead mouse in a jar while one of his friends is distracting Mrs. Pratchett.´´I kept to the rear of the group, and when I saw Mrs Pratchett turn her head away for a couple of seconds to fish a Sherbet Sucker out of the box, I lifted the heavy glass lid of the Gobstopper jar and dropped the mouse in. Then I replaced the lid as silently as possible. My heart was thumping like mad and my hands had gone all sweaty.´´
All the boys line up around the school playground for something they didn't no why. Mrs. Pratchett sees the boys and tells the headmaster that it was those 5 boys Dahl, Thrwaites, and the other 3.´´There they are!’ she cried out, stabbing the air with her finger. ‘’Im . . . and ’im . . . and ’im! That’s the five of ’em all right! We don’t need to look no farther than this, ’Eadmaster!´´
The headmaster is child abusing the boys with his cane by hitting there bottoms with it. Dahl's mom talks to the headmaster and tells Dahl when she came home that he is moving boarding schools.´´‘I said I would, as soon as the school year is finished. I shall find you an English school this time,’ she said. ‘Your father was right. English schools are the best in the world.’
Dahl goes to a new school called St Peter’s School, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset because he got hit by a cane in his old school. Dahl talks about the tuck-box and what it does.´´A tuck-box, as the name implies, is a box in which you store your tuck.´´
Dahl talks about the Matron of being mean to them like when someone threw a sponge at her. The matron comes in Dahl´s room because someone named Tweedie was snoring so loud that she could hear.´´‘Who’s that talking?’ cried the Matron, bursting in.´´
