Storyboard Description

One day two men Ken Fink and Bob Gross did a presentation at the kids' school. After their presentation, Lori shows them her art. They advise her to continue her art to become an artist in New York City. Jeannette and Lori fantasize about New York. Jeannette decides to tell Lori about her escape fund. They come up with the plan to use the money they put into the fund to escape to New York. Jeanette creates a sculpture of Shakespeare's head for a scholarship opportunity at a school in New York. Frustrated with the idea, Rex ruins Lori’s sculpture and makes it seem as if it isn’t a big deal and now, “unique”. Lori becomes very angry. Jeannette and Lori come up with the plan to use the escape fund money to send Lori to New York even if she doesn’t get into the college. After nine months of saving more money, Jeannette goes to put her babysitting money into Oz, their piggy bank (escape fund), and it is smashed open with no money in it. Lori confronts Rex, it was obvious he stole the money. Lori’s plan to leave had been ruined. One day, the Sanders family asked Jeannette to spend the summer in Iowa with their family to help watch the kids for $200 and a bus ticket home. Jeanette gives the job to Lori and tells the family to give her a bus ticket to New York. Lastly, Lori leaves with the Sanders and says goodbye to her entire family, excluding her father.
