  • I accept the Alien and Sedition act 
  • Washington’s role as the first president set off the precedent for a strong central government and a strong executive branch. He was a very thoughtful president and liked to avoid war when he could ex: Jay's Treaty
  • James Madison
  • Finally, the war of 1812 is over
  • Before he held office, Jefferson was the leader of the Democratic-Republicans. Since then, he initiated the Louisiana Purchase which increased the size of the United States by around 828,000 square miles of land.
  • The End
  • Adams had been an early leader in the struggle for independence. One of the most prominent things he did during his presidency was passing the Alien and Sedition acts, which were designed to not only suppress public criticism but also make it harder for immigrants to become citizens and give the president the power to deport 'suspicious' immigrants.
  • During the presidency of James Madison, the war of 1812 occurred. The war of 1812 was one of the first major wars of the United States as it's own independent nation 
  • Overall, all four presidents had a tremendous impact on our country
