It seemed that some of the humans knew what's happening. They were the ones trying to help.
And some didn't care, I suppose. They had other things going on in their lives.
Others pretended it wasn't happening.
But not me.
And the water kept coming Ever so slowly But coming nonetheless Every day a little bit farther A little bit higher A little bit deeper
Now, after several years of progressively melting ice caps, this was all that remained of me and my island.
The tides kept rising
Creeping ever so slowly closer to my roots.
One night, many months later, after all of the anticipation and slowly rising tides, I was enveloped in water. The water levels were finally too high. And I died. I, once a proud tree, standing tall on a hill, had now perished from the earth.
I hope no other trees will meet my fate. The world needs us to keep it clean.
I wish to be optimistic, that humanity will stop these melting ice caps.
