Russia didn't allow other cultures/ideas. The czars enforced strict censorship codes and controlled what the public read/heard. This angered the people and prevented them from reading/listening/experiencing other cultures
I love Russia!
Alexander III continued his rule by making Russian the official language. He targeted other groups/ religions such as Jews. They were robbed, shot, and had their houses destroyed.
Eat, sleep and breathe Russian! I will terminate anyone who disobeys!
As Russia began to industrialize, more and more factories were built. Working conditions were not the greatest and made the factory workers extremely upset. The began to riot and unite under the leadership of Karl Marx and set out to over throw the czar
The Bolsheviks created their own party and were the more radical supporters of Karl Marx. They were united under Lenin. They were a group of ruthless protesters and stopped short of nothing to achieve their goal
Bloody Sunday was a result of 200,000 workers marching to St. Petersburg to demand better working conditions. The czar wasn't having it and released his guards upon the innocent workers. 1.000 people were wounded and a hundred were killed. This was the final straw for the people of Russia.
After Blood Sunday, and Russia's involvement in WWI, the people were very frustrated with the czar. They were able to convince him to step down. Lenin returned back to his homelandd, thanks to Germany, to claim the crown and guide the Bolsheviks to power. Once he was able to restore order, the Bolsheviks renamed their party to the communist party. This was just the beginign of the USSR.
