The French and Indian War was a conflict between France and Great Britain over territory in North America.
Then in 1754 the governor of Virginia sent soldiers to kick the French out of Western Pennsylvania. They were led by colonel named George Washington.
The war started in 1754.
The war ended in 1763.
The French wanted to control all the trade in their territory.
Unlike Britain, France didn't build farms and towns on Indian land.
The war lasted from 1754 to 1863.
From 1758 to 1760, the British won victory after victory, ultimately winning the war in 1763!
