Hey there! Did you know that each American uses an average of 88 gallons of water a day at home? Water is essential for life on earth but if we keep up our current water practices the consequences could be drastic and we could run out of usable water. People are constantly wasting and polluting water but we cant loose hope! By using more efficient water conservation methods we can prevent disaster and conserve our water supply together.
Water conservation means caring for and preserving our water supply so that it can last for generations to come. Only three percent of water on Earth is clean and we are going through that way too fast right now to sustain future populations. If we do not make a change we may run out of water forever. By educating people on how to use their water more wisely, we may be able to make huge progress together and conserve water.
We use tons of water in our homes everyday! If everybody can do just a few simple things to help conserve water, we may be able to solve our issue. A few things you can do around your kitchen to save water includes not letting your water run, reusing boiled water, and not running the dishwater until its full.

One of the biggest places in which people waste water is in their own bathrooms. Just by changing a few of our daily practices in the bathroom , we can conserve tons of water. Doing things like only flushing the toilet when necessary, not letting the sink run, and taking shorter showers can make a huge difference. Their are also products like more efficient water usage shower heads that can help save water too.
You may have never thought about this, but farming practices use a ton of water as well. As the population increases so does the need for food. Farmers are busy planting tons of crops for the huge population but this is costing us huge amounts of water. Modified crops, or more drought-resistant crops are one way farmers can save water. Another way farmers can save water is by being smart in picking the location of where crops are grown.
Water is fundamental for life on Earth and has so many purposes from usage in your home to usage in farming and other industries. If we all step up and use our water more wisely we can conserve our supply together. So do me a favor and take a short shower, recycle water, only run the dishwasher when full, and do anything you can to save water. We can do this!
