The children are collecting stones and rocks as Mr. Summers, Old Man Warner, Mr. Martin, Mr. Graves, and Mr. Delacroix plan out the event of the lottery
The setting takes place in the small village square on June 27th, a hot summer day.
Rising Action 1- All the adults meet in the town square for the lottery when they begin selecting names for the draw.
Rising Action 2- Tessie gets angry at Mr.Summer saying that he didn't give Bill enough time
Rising Action 3- Tessie's husband is forced to open Tessie's paper when she doesn't budge.
Climax- Tessie starts freaking out when she's the "chosen one".
