  • The pilgrims traveled with their families on the Mayflower  to achieve religious freedom.

  • This is what we traveled for?
  • Geographical
  • Plymouth Rock had very rocky soil which only let them have small farms.
  • This soil is terrible for farming
  • Economical
  • Since Plymouth has such rocky soil they have to use different ways to earn money such as whaling, fishing and selling timber.
  • This fish will be worth lots of money!
  • Political
  • The colonists could vote in town meetings which was better for them because King Charles | was very strict.
  • BALLOT
  • Now we vote!
  • Compare- Jamestown and Plymouth were both began because of political, economical, geographical and social reasons, they were both also started by early colonists from England.
  • Contrast- Plymouth and Jamestown are also very different in a number of ways such as their success levels, population and their main source of economy.
