  • The Nervous System By Cole Ehlinger
  • The Nervous System
  • The Nervous System is known as the command center of your body. It controls all of the systems in your body and it helps you think. The Nervous System sends messages through out the body telling your body what to do and how how to react to things. It also helps you solve a math problem and learn how to ride a bike. If you didn't have the Nervous System you wouldn't be able to communicate with other people or be able to taste your ice cream.
  • What Is The Function
  • The Main Parts of the Nervous system
  • The main part of the Nervous System is the brain. It sends messages to every part of the body telling it what to do and how to move. The spinal collects messages from the nerve cells or nerves and sends them to the brain. The nerve cells gather messages from the brain sending them to the spinal cord which makes your body move. The central Nervous system holds the brain and the spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is the complicated network of nerves that sends messages through the body. The autonomic nervous system controls body processes that are involuntary.
  • How Does the Nervous System impact other Systems
  • The nervous system impacts the skeletal system because the spinal cord is attached to the spine and it sends messages through the spine. The nervous system impacts the muscular system the nerves tell your muscles to pull away if you are touching a hot pot or something sharp. The nervous system controls the digestive system because it is involuntary. Nerve cells run through the excretory system. The heart in the circulatory system is involuntary so the nervous system controls it. The nervous system keeps you breathing. The nervous controls the endocrine system because it is involuntary. The nervous system sends messages to the immune system telling it to fight the germs.
  • A Problem in the Nervous System
  • A potential problem that can occur in the nervous system is that you damage your head which can cause your brain to not be able to work properly. If you get damage to your brain then it can affect your spinal and then the nerves wouldn't be able to work properly and you won't have good reflexes and you wouldn't be able to think straight. If you had this injury you would have to have brain surgery. This problem is preventable by wearing a helmet.
  • How does the problem Impact other Systems?
  • Fish vs. Human
  • Fish
  • The nervous system in a fish does not make a fish as smart as a human because it doesn't make a fish very smart. the nerve cells in a fish don't send messages to the brain as much as humans nerve cells do.
  • Both
  • Both the skin of fish and humans feel pain because the nervous system lets it. It makes fish run away from predators and humans not touch hot pots on the stove.
  • Human
  • The nervous system in a human makes us smart and makes us think so fish are not as smart as humans. The nerve cells in a human send messages to the brain unlike fish.

  • If a problem occurs in the Nervous system then a bone in the skeletal system can be broken. It can also cause soreness in your muscles. Also it would be harder to pass messages through the excretory system. In the circulatory system it would be harder to pass veins and arteries through your skull so brain wouldn't get that much blood. The nervous system wouldn't be able to send messages to the immune system telling it to fight the germs.
