  • Joseph had told his brothers about the dream he had just had, where the stars, moon and sun were bowing down to him. His brothers were extremely jealous about what he had just told them.
  • “Listen, I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
  • Since the brothers were extremely jellies of Joseph they had a plan to kill him. When Reuben heard the plan, he came up with a new plan to not kill him but trick their father that he died
  • "Here comes that dreamer!, Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams.”
  • “Don’t shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him.”
  • The brothers of Joseph strip off his coat and throw him into the empty well
  • The brothers sat down to eat a meal when they saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead.
  • “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood?  Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.”
  • Joseph's cpat was covered in blood and when Jacob relised it was his son's, he was absoluetly devastated. He thinks an animal devoured him. The brothers slaughtered a lamb and smeared the blood all over the coat.
  • “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animalhas devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces.”
  • “We found this. Examine it to see whether it is your son’s robe.”
  • Jacob tore off his clothes and mourned over his favourite son's death. His children tried to comfort him but he told them all to leave. He said "i will continue to mourn until I join my sun at the grave."
  • “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animalhas devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces.”
