Queen Elizabeth I was the Protestant ruler of England. King Phillip II was the Catholic Ruler of Spain.
One reason the war began was because England was a Protestant country under Elizabeth, and Philip II as a Catholic wanted to restore Catholicism to England.
England needs to convert back to Catholicism!
The major reason that Spain lost the battle was due to their poor formation and attack plan. At one point, there formation worked until they had to stop to pick up sailors and became vulnerable to attack from England, who also had stronger weapons. Once their formation was ruined, they had no backup plan and lost the battle.
