Storyboard Text

  • Where shall we three meet again?
  • Upon the heath
  • There to meet with Macbeth
  • Stay, you imperfect speakers, tell me more. By Sinel's death I know I am Thane of Glamis, But how of Cawdor? Speak, I charge you
  • Macbeth, hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor
  • Macbeth, hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor
  • Macbeth, that shalt be King hereafter!
  • You shall be king
  • Your children shall be kings. And I shall be Thane of Cawdor too. Went it not so?
  • The story of Macbeth starts with three witches creating spells that predict Macbeth's future. One starts to spell the statement "Upon the heath" which is the place they will meet with Macbeth and use an obscure way to tell Macbeth their predictions. Also, I added beards on the witches face to show their bizzare appearance.
  • What, can the devil speak true
  • He bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor
  • When the three witches met with Macbeth, the witches concealed their expression to show their prophet position. The three witches tell Macbeth his title in the future of Thane of Cawdor and the King of Scotland. After, Macbeth and Banquo want further information, but the witches didn't give them the information about their future.
  • This supernatural soliciting Cannot be ill, cannot be good. If ill, why hath it given me earnest of success, Commencing in a truth? I am Thane of Cawdor
  • If good, why do I yield to that suggestion Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair. My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical.
  • After the witches are gone, Macbeth doesn't believe those witches' prophecies. On one hand, this shows that Macbeth thinks carefully when facing different situations, but on the other hand, this shows Macbeth's suspicion to others that foreshadows his action of killing Banquo and Macduff in the following scenes.
  • Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be What thou art promised.
  • Hie thee hither, That I may pour my spirits in thine ear, And chastise with the valour of my tongue All that impedes thee from the golden round Which fate and metaphysical aid doth seem To have thee crowned withal.
  • When Macbeth and Banquo are still thinking about the truth of the predictions, the King's messenger Ross and Angus come to Macbeth and grant him the title of Thane of Cawdor, which proves the three witches' prophecy.
  • The Thane of Cawdor lives.
  • As the above slides stated, Macbeth is a character that really thinks a lot, and he tries to think deeper to his future. However, when he thinks deeper, his ambition grows larger and larger which foreshadows the bloody consequence caused by his ambition.
  • Macbeth sends a letter to his wife and tells everything about the prophecy to her. When Macbeth is still thinking whether he should kill his obstacles or not, his wife Lady Macbeth decided for him which is a repeat of murders.
