The story begins with Odysseus telling his story to the king of Phaeacia
When Odysseus and his crew land on the island of the Cicones, he tells his men to plunder the land.
Later on, Odysseus calls to his men to come back to the ship. They become mutinous and refuse to back to the ship.
The Cicones attack Odysseus and crew. They manage to kill 6 of Odysseus's men before they manage to escape.
Nine days go by before they find the land of the Lotus-Eaters. Odysseus sends 2 men and a runner to look for food. They encountered the Lotus-Eaters, who offer them lotus flowers. They eat them and forget about wanting to go home.
Odysseus, caring very much about his men, had to help them. He himself and a few men drag the others back to the ship.
