  • Union soldiers set up camp in the south during the civil war.
  • The civil war lasted from 1861-1865. During this time Union soldiers were camped in the south where they trained, ate, and slept.
  • Throughout the war  the camps were set up so they were closer to the war.
  • Today in modern times there are still things like camps such as boot camps.
  • This helped our nation because being closer to the war helped a union victory.
  • During the war at camps they are hard tac which was just baked flour and water.
