But I've read the Montium tens of time. The pages are ALWAYS the same.
You're late. Take this. You'll need it later. Read the pages. The blood is on the ground. You know what it is for.
W-W-What?! How!? T-The pages?
I wish I could explain. I have a universe I need to correct.
We don't have much time! Get to the portal!
Why should I listen to you, German? All you've done is risk our lives over and over again!
Our 4 heroes arrive at a new location, one that they have not been to.
You'll never leave this dimension alive. Kept in purgatory till the end of time! AHHHHHHH!
Dr. Samuelsson skims the thick book, his face becoming increasingly confused, and accusingly stares at the other version of himself
The older Samuelsson steps through a bright blue oval and disappears in a flash. Samuelsson grabs the blood vials, and the American, Rich, voices his displeasure and confusion.
The being traps our heroes in an infinite time loop, or purgatory, and their only hope is to break the cycle.
Who the hell is that?!
I have known him to take many forms, but he is an evil being with immense power. I'm afraid we've been stuck in a time loop.
I know where we are going. The road will be challenging, but we will prevail. We will complete our mission.
They wake up in a room with shapes drawn on walls resembling modern weapons, and dead humans scattered throughout. Samuelsson is the only one who remains calm, while Rich, Nikolai, and Tagomi are furious with him.
We can't trust the German. Wherever he is taking us, it's not somewhere we would want to be.
The blood... My life's work... Do you know who I am?
With Samuelsson dying, Great War Samuelsson emerges and takes the vials from him. He gives the Montium to Nikolai, and tells him to read the pages. On his last legs, Samuelsson pleads with his 3 other comrades, but they ignore. Just as the dimension collapses, they escape through a portal.
I wish I could say that I'm sorry. It had to be this way.
