Joseph Stalin rose to power after the Russia Civil War when he became the leader of the Soviet Union. He grew up in poverty and soon was involved in politics and activities like stealing or bank robbing. He followed the ideas of Marxism and Vladmir Lenin, the leader of the Bolshevik Party.
Stalin rose to power after he was appointed to serve on the first central committee and became one of the Bolshevik's leaders. He took part in a bank robbery that had many killed, making him more powerful. When Lenin died and Stalin was the secretary general, he won power and soon became the dictator of the Soviet Union.
Stalin created a plan to turn the society of farmland peasants into an industrial superpower. He ruled with absolute power hated others opinions as they would be killed on the spot if they disagreed with his choices.
Off with his head!!!
As leader of the communist party, Stalin built the Soviet Union around himself, renaming cities after himself, rewriting books, and making him the subject of other arts and literatures.

Stalin is most known for the amount of death he is responsible for as a paranoid dictator. He set up labor camps for those that could survive.Thousands were also executed from their different opinions. The Great Purges were a time when he murdered hundreds because of their disloyalty.
Stalin died March 5th, 19543 from a stroke, and died responsible for over 20 million deaths as a ruler.
