Storyboard Text

  • Ralph
  • Character's Speech: "I'm chief. I'll go. Don't argue."
  • Physical Characteristics: Ralph is tall, good looking, fit, and charming.
  • Author's Attitude: Ralph is the leader of the group; he's basically the main character/protagonist of the story.
  • Reader's Reaction: He is very civilized & is trying to help everyone get off the island. He cares for everyone & is the one that the readers like. 
  • Jack
  • Character's Speech: "Kill the pig, cut her throat, spill the blood."
  • Physical Characteristics: Jack is "ugly". He is tall, skinny, and bony. He has red hair with blue eyes and an evil face.
  • Author's Attitude: Jack is the antagonist of the story. He becomes a savage murderer.
  • Reader's Reaction: Jack is the one that the readers dislike. He's the one who opposes to protagonist (Ralph's enemy/rival).
  • Piggy
  • Character's Speech: "How can you expect to be rescued if you don't put first things first and act proper?"
  • Physical Characteristics: Piggy is fat, blind, and has medical conditions, but is intelligent.
  • Author's Attitude: The author views Piggy more negatively. Piggy represents reason and loyalty but is described as annoying or useless.
  • Reader's Reaction: He is more wise and like an adult. He's very smart and mature.
  • Simon
  • Character's Speech: "What I mean is... Maybe it's only us..."
  • Physical Characteristics: Simon is one of the "in-between" boys; a small, skinny boy. He also has straight black hair.
  • Author's Attitude: The author describes him as innocent like the littluns but as intelligent as the biguns.
  • Roger
  • Character's Speech: "He's a proper chief, isn't he?"
  • Physical Characteristics: Roger is small and skinny. He's younger than Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, but older than the littluns.
  • Author's Attitude: Roger is used to symbolize the devil, or bad/evil in people. The author states that he kept to himself and was quiet.
  • Sam & Eric
  • Character's Speech: "Give us- -tinder wood."
  • Physical Characteristics: Described as barely having enough skin to cover both. Also bullet headed. (Finish each other's sentences).
  • Author's Attitude: They show that humans need support from others; they're like one person so if one does something, the other follows.
  • Reader's Reaction: He has a better understanding of life than everyone else, even Piggy. He's the one who realizes that the beast it in them.
  • Reader's Reaction: He develops savagery as the story goes along. He begins by throwing rocks Henry, to killing Piggy in the end.
  • Reader's Reaction: They're basically one person but still very weak. This shows when they side with Jack after being threatened.
