  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • Rising Action
  • On Maple Street , somewhere in America. We are introduced to the residences who are talking to each other (typical neighborhood), when suddenly a meteor-like light streaks across the sky and all the power goes out.
  • Climax
  • When a boy named Tommy tells the neighbors about the aliens that he had read in his comic book. The neighbors start questioning themselves and the people around them on Maple Street.
  • Falling Action
  • All the neighbors become suspicious of one another. They began to blame one another and diligently try to find a scapegoat. Mr. Goodman's car is the only one to work on the block. He is the first to be blamed. Steve tries to become the peacemaker as well.
  • Resolution
  • Charlie and the neighbors see a dark figure walking down the street. They suspect it is the 'alien', so Charlie shoots it. Charlie just shot Pete Van Horn.
  • The neighbors begin to blame Charlie. His lights turn on after he had shot Pete Van Horn. Charlie does not want to be the scapegoat, so he begins to blame Tommy. Everyone believes it is Tommy who is the 'alien' because he knew about the situation first.
  • The neighbors become terrified. Two figures are shown in a ship. They state that there are many types of Maple Streets in this world. They all act the same way. All the neighbors become their own enemy and always try to blame one another for their actions.
