A peasant girl walked to the castle of the beloved prince whom she wished to marry, hoping he would giver her a chance and accept her for who she was, a peasant girl.
Two servants had let the girl in and brought her to the King and Queen's attention. The girl was sad to see that the prince was not there; this was because the Queen wanted to approve of her son's new wife first. Like always she did not, because she felt no one was worthy of marrying her son, so she sent the girl away.
After the Queen had left the King told the servants to go retrieve the girl so he and the prince could talk to her. They decided on a devious plan to get rid of the Queen, as the King and Prince found out why the Prince could not find a wife. It was because the Queen had either run them off or she had them killed and told him that they just wanted his money.
The Prince wen't against his mother and decided to marry the peasant girl and throw a small party. While the Queen was busy being upset that her son disobeyed her, the King had one of the maids bring her a glass of wine, not knowing it had poison in it.
After the death of the Queen, the Prince and his new wife decided that it would be best if they leave and the King agreed so they took a horse an left the castle and they lived happily ever after.
